As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
Submission Guidelines
To submit your manuscript to TESOL Today, prepare it electronically in Word format (.doc, .docx, .rtf) and use the online submission system after registration. Ensure your manuscript is in a single-column, single-spaced format with Times New Roman font, size 12. For blind peer review, do not include authors' names in the manuscript. Follow APA 7th Edition style for references and citations. Download the stage-one manuscript template here:
Include a self-contained, citation-free abstract, not exceeding 200 words.
Introduction
Keep this section succinct and without subheadings.
Materials and Methods
Detail procedures for repeatability, subdividing into subsections if describing multiple methods.
Results and Discussion
This section can be divided by subheadings or combined, as appropriate.
Conclusions
Summarize the main conclusions, emphasizing the work's importance and relevance.
Acknowledgements
Place acknowledgements before the references, covering any grants, presentations, etc.
References
Ensure the manuscript includes accurate references, following APA 7th Edition style. Manuscripts submitted without references will be returned.
Authors' Details
During the article submission process, details of all authors, including their emails, affiliations, ORCID numbers, and other relevant information, should be registered. The corresponding author should provide biographies for all authors during registration. Refer to previous publications for examples.
Preparation of Figures
Include all figures and tables in the manuscript file. Supply figures in bitmap formats (TIF, GIF, JPEG, EPS, etc.) at a minimum of 300 dpi resolution, unless a lower level is scientifically justified. Embed labels in separate layers if present.
Preparation of Tables
Cite tables consecutively in the text. Each table must have a descriptive title, and units should be included in the column headings. Avoid vertical rules.
English Grammar
Authors are encouraged to use grammar-checking software, like Grammarly, or consult a native speaker for proofreading before submission.
Original Contribution
Clearly state the originality of the scientific contribution within the manuscript.
Effective Writing
Aim for clarity, accuracy, and conciseness in your writing. Avoid overly complicated or formal language. Convey your ideas as you would in a conversation for optimal understanding.

We use Turnitin for plagiarism detection. TESOL Today will evaluate any plagiarism case on its merits. If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before publication, before or after acceptance, during editing, or at proof stage—the author(s) will be asked to rewrite or correctly cite the original text. Manuscripts with over 20% plagiarism may be rejected.
