Aim and Scope
Journal of Studies in Civil Engineering (JSCE) is dedicated to advancing civil engineering as a discipline and a practice. The journal aims to publish high-quality research that contributes to the understanding of civil engineering principles and their applications to solve real-world challenges. JSCE seeks to be a cornerstone for the civil engineering community, providing insights into the latest developments, innovative solutions, and emerging trends in the field, and fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse aspects of civil engineering that impact societal infrastructure.
JSCE focuses on a comprehensive range of topics within the field of civil engineering, including but not limited to:
- Construction and Building Materials: Innovations in the development and application of building materials that enhance the performance, durability, and sustainability of construction projects
- Structural and Earthquake Engineering: Research on the design and analysis of structures that are capable of withstanding seismic activity, enhancing safety and resilience
- Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering: Studies focusing on the behavior of earth materials and their application in construction, including foundation design, slope stability, and soil mechanics
- Engineering Management: Examination of methods for improving the planning, execution, and management of engineering projects, including cost control, project management techniques, and safety protocols
- Environmental Engineering: Research on sustainable practices in civil engineering, including waste management, pollution control, and environmental impact assessments
- Water Resources Engineering: Studies on the management and control of water resources, focusing on flood risk management, irrigation systems, and sustainable water use
- Hydraulic Engineering: Engineering related to the flow and conveyance of fluids, primarily water, including hydrodynamics, dam construction, and canal design
- Transportation Engineering: Research on the design, construction, and maintenance of transportation systems, including roads, bridges, rail systems, and traffic management
- Ocean and Marine Engineering: Studies on coastal and oceanic structures, including harbors, jetties, sea walls, and offshore platforms, focusing on their design, construction, and environmental challenges
- Urban Engineering: Exploration of urban planning and development, focusing on infrastructure systems, smart cities, and urban sustainability
- Surveying Engineering: Research in the measurement and analysis of the earth’s surface, including land surveying techniques, mapping, and GIS applications
JSCE encourages submissions that showcase innovative methodologies, detailed case studies, and comprehensive reviews. The journal is committed to fostering interdisciplinary research that connects civil engineering with other key areas such as technology, economics, and environmental science, aiming to address the complex challenges of modern societies and contribute to the development of sustainable, safe, and efficient infrastructure.
